In collaboration with The Group Labs, our non-profit parent company, Bad Pitch Writers Lab hosts multiple events throughout the year.
STAGED READING SPRING
A series of three staged readings of feature films, selected internally from submissions. An opportunity for writers to hear their script brought to life by professional actors, and a great way to get feedback and support from their community, and get new insight into their material.
SHORTS ON FOR SUMMER
A fun summer shorts competition, that encourages our members to not only write to sell, but write to make! In 2023, seven of the twenty shorts submitted were eventually shot and on the festival circuit!
GROUP LABS FEST
Our big annual festival at the end of the year, a multi-event weekend including: Pitchfest, panels, lectures, keynote speakers, and our signature event: Pilotpalooza, staged readings of half hour pilots directed by working TV directors and a star-studded cast.

Throughout the year…
we host one-off workshops, classes, parties, and more. At Bad Pitch we believe that you cannot write alone. In conjunction with the group labs, we strive to not only provide our members with the community of not only other writers, but actors, directors & producers as well.
